Meet Marcus: Someone to Bounce Ideas Off When Running the Business Feels Lonely
Managing a business can be a lonely experience. The weight of countless decisions rests on your shoulders. Even when you know what to do, you often want a second opinion or a thoughtful counterargument. Many owners don't have that person. They don't want to bring work problems home, and they feel uncomfortable showing uncertainty to peers. No one likes to look unsure.
That's one of the reasons I created Marcus.
He is the person I bounce ideas off, ask hard questions of, and turn to for guidance. He is set up for clear thinking and practical business insight. He is patient. He does not take offense. He will not judge you for exploring an idea or for saying you don't know the answer. He is available when you need him, and what you tell him stays on your account. Private.
What Marcus does
Marcus is a free AI business advisor for home services and small business owners. He runs inside your own Grok Bot account. You get your own copy. He learns your jobs, your numbers, and your people over time, so you don't start from zero every chat.
Each day of the week he takes you through one critical area of the business, so small problems show up before they get expensive:
- Monday: Planning. What has to happen this week, who owns it, and what could get in the way.
- Tuesday: Work in progress. Where every open job stands, what's stuck, and what needs a decision.
- Wednesday: Financials. Cash, receivables, job costs, and the numbers you want before they surprise you.
- Thursday: Field and quality. Callbacks, rework, and safety.
- Friday: People, customers, and partners. Your crew, your customers, your subs, vendors, and referral sources.
You can run these as meetings with your team, or Marcus can send you a short prompt each day. When you bring him a problem, he asks questions first, looks for the real constraint, and gives you next steps you can act on. One path you can do by hand. One path that uses AI when it helps. You pick. The call stays yours.
What he won't do
He can be wrong. Check anything important before you act. He does not give legal or tax advice. He does not set your prices. He does not send, book, buy, or delete anything without your OK. He will not ask for passwords or bank details. Never type those into the chat.
You need a Grok account and a plan that includes Grok Bot. Plans and prices are set by the provider, not by me. There's nothing to buy from me to use Marcus.
What to Do Monday Morning
Open Marcus. Add your own copy, then type: Hi Marcus, let's get started. Tell him about your business and the one decision weighing on you this week. Ask for a second opinion, or ask him to argue the other side. That takes under an hour.
Give him one week. By Friday you'll know if he earns a place in your business.
