What this course is

Plan your first AI build before you start it.

A free course from Agentic Solutions. Nine short modules teach the scope-first process for a first AI build, in order. It follows the method in two books: The AI Advantage for Home Service Businesses and The Dilemma. You don’t need either book to take it.

Who it’s for: home services owners and managers who keep hearing “you should build something with AI” and want to know where to start without getting burned. You don’t need to be a developer. You do need to know your business.

Two examples run through every module: Spotlight, a real marketing app for remodelers, and the Drying Log, a restoration sketch made up for teaching. Where Spotlight’s original plan skipped a step, the course says so. The steps are the same for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, cleaning, or any shop that runs jobs.

See the nine steps
  1. Pain: what the problem is costing you (the Four Losses)
  2. A one-page map of the business, and the one binding constraint
  3. A goal and a scoreboard: satisfaction, productivity, and cycle time, pointing at profit
  4. A will build / will not build list
  5. A "Phase One is done when..." line someone else could check
  6. An extraction interview to get the knowledge out of people's heads
  7. A source of truth: where the build lives and who owns it
  8. An AI-supervised build loop, and one question: "Is it live or on the laptop?"
  9. A real check of Phase One, then a decision on Phase Two

This is not a hands-on build. You won’t write code here. At the end of each module you fill in one part of a one-page worksheet. By Module 9 you have a plan for your first build.

Your worksheet: Process Mapping Worksheet (PDF) or Word version. Print it or keep it open.

One standing rule, from The Dilemma: when in doubt on any step, ask AI. Then you decide.
