Welcome to the AI Builders Guild

This is the first post that will also appear somewhere new: the AI Builders Guild, our Discord community for people who are actually building with AI — not just talking about it.

Here's what this community is, and what it isn't.

What it is

A place to learn the craft of building real applications that solve real problems. Not AI hype, not "10 prompts that will change your business" — the actual work: scoping, building, shipping, and debugging systems that do something useful.

You'll find:

  • Build logs — every week we write down what we actually shipped, including the things that broke.
  • #show-your-build — members posting what they've made, and getting honest feedback. This is the heart of the guild: real work on display.
  • Questions — the forum channel for "how do I scope this?", "which stack?", "why is my webhook silently failing?" (that last one is a real story from this week's log).
  • Resources — the free stack, the guides, and links worth keeping.

What it isn't

  • Not a place to get sold to. If someone's "helpful" message turns into a pitch, that's not the guild working — flag it.
  • Not a hype room. No "AI will replace everything" energy. We build, we ship, we debug.
  • Not a leaderboard contest. The goal isn't the most impressive demo; it's the most useful system.

How to get value from it

Same as the book's method: start small, scope one thing, build it, show it.

  1. Pick one process in your business that's slow, fragile, or annoying.
  2. Map it (the Four Losses framework is a good lens).
  3. Post it in #what-do-you-need-to-build — naming the problem is the first build step.
  4. Build the smallest version that works, then show it in #show-your-build.

That's the whole loop. The guild exists so nobody does step 4 alone.

If you're new to the method, start with the first 30 pages free — the Four Losses, the one-page map, and finding your binding constraint. Then try Module 1 of the course to see the whole process run on a real app.

Ready to find your binding constraint?

Start with the first 30 pages free, or book a short intro call. We rank the losses in your operation, pick one workflow worth automating, and scope a build you can run.

The blog is the method. The Guild is where you ship it — ask questions, show your build, and get feedback from people actually doing this work. Every post lands there automatically, so the conversation keeps going.

#show-your-build · #questions · weekly build logs — no spam, no pitches.
